CM: Giroud’s family could push for Milan renewal in the summer

Olivier Giroud’s contract will expire at the end of the season and a decision will be made by all parties then. According to a report, however, the Frenchman’s family could push for a contract renewal with AC Milan.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that Giroud has attracted interest from MLS, among other leagues, and that his Milan renewal is far from a certainty. Indeed, the parties are expected to sit down and talk about the future after the season.

As added by Calciomercato.com, Giroud will factor in his physical condition, the role he would have at Milan and the wishes of his family. The latter is very happy in Milano and could thus push for a one-year renewal, although the 37-year-old will decide in the end.

This season, Giroud has found the back of the net nine times in all competitions and that is not a bad record by any means. He also has five assists to his name but Milan will be hoping that he can find some more consistency, having had one longer goal drought already.

The Frenchman is set to play from the first minute as Milan will take on Salernitaa tonight (Friday) and you can read all the match facts here.
