Calciomercato.com report that Olivier Giroud carried out the full training session with the rest of the squad. After returning to Milanello early following an ankle sprain with France he had been doing individual work, but now he is fully back.
Today’s session was always likely to be the major indicator and he seems to have therefore passed the test. It is a huge boost for Stefano Pioli and for the Rossoneri, because Giroud’s charisma, experience and eye for goal cannot be ignored in an emotional match like that of the Milan derby.
The French striker will be the centre-forward against the Nerazzurri, with Rafael Leao on his left and Christian Pulisic on his right.
Pierre Kalulu did not train with the group and will undergo instrumental tests to define the extent of the muscle injury he suffered at the beginning of the week.
