CM: Jovic could ‘pay the price’ despite renewal as Milan eye another striker – the situation

With Alvaro Morata all set to arrive and links with other strikers doing the rounds, Luka Jovic must be watching on with intrigue.

According to Calciomercato.com, Giorgio Furlani is ready to fly to Madrid on Wednesday to complete the operation with Atletico Madrid and the Spanish striker’s agents, then the Tammy Abraham situation will be analysed.

Roma offered Abraham to Milan because they are aware of Fonseca’s appreciation for the qualities of the English centre-forward. If the two clubs were to find a meeting point on his value and any counterparts (Alexis Saelemaekers the discussed name), things could move along.

Tammy’s wish to join Milan could be satisfied and it would also change Jovic’s fate. The Serbia’s future with the Rossoneri is in the balance despite the clause for the annual renewal having been exercised only a few weeks ago.

Milan are thinking about what could be the new attack for next season. The basic idea would be to pair Abraham with Morata or at least a striker with those characteristics: physically strong and in the air so as to provide tactical alternatives to Fonseca.

The one to ‘pay the price’ – if this scenario were to materialise – would be Jovic because the former Real Madrid man would have his playing time drastically reduced. Not only that, but enquiries from Zenit and clubs in the Saudi League have arrived, and Milan could make a pure gain.
