CM: The latest on four exit-bound Milan players as negotiations continue

AC Milan are expected to make a healthy amount of sales this summer to make way for the expected reinforcement. There are four players, in particular, that will leave the club on a permanent basis.

As reported by Daniele Longo in his latest piece for Calciomercato.com, the players in question are Tiemoue Bakayoko, Mattia Caldara, Leo Duarte and Samu Castillejo. It doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone, given the last few years.

Duarte has been on loan at Basaksehir for the last 18 months and the Turkish club intend to keep him, but they have asked for a discount on the €5.5m fee. The feeling is that there will be a positive outcome to the negotiations.

Caldara’s contracts with Milan will expire in 2023 and Empoli have expressed their interest, and if they are serious the deal should face no obstacles. Castillejo, meanwhile, is certain to leave and there have been contacts with a few Spanish clubs.

Valencia, who appointed Gennaro Gattuso as their manager recently, is one of them and they are also in talks with the entourage of Bakayoko. The latter is expected to cut his loan at Milan short and a solution is being worked on for that.
