CM: Milan have €22m net contract ready for Morata – final green light awaited

AC Milan are getting closer to being able to welcome Alvaro Morata as their first summer signing, according to reports.

Calciomercato.com state that Morata is about to make an important decision, perhaps the last of his career. The choice seems to lean more and more towards the Rossoneri and towards Italy, a country that he feels at home in.

Although he has a lot of respect and love for Atletico Madrid and its fans, the possibility of experiencing a new challenge is very attractive. In the last few hours there has been a lot of talk about an attempted hijack by Roma, but Milan seem to be the only team in the running.

At the moment the 31-year-old has reduced his choice to just two options: the Rossoneri or Atletico Madrid. In the meantime the LaLiga giants are already looking around for a possible replacement such as Artem Dovbyk of Girona and Randal Kolo Muani of PSG.

Milan have a four-year contract worth €5.5m net per season ready for Morata. As soon as they get the final green light, Ibrahimovic will inform Atletico Madrid of his willingness to pay the €13m release clause.

If everything goes according to plan, Morata will undergo medical tests between Tuesday and Wednesday – as we reported first – and then leave for vacation.
