CM: Milan accelerate for Pavlovic – negotiations now well advanced

AC Milan seem to be closing in on their second summer signing as negotiations over Strahinja Pavlovic are now advanced, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com have provided an update this evening which confirms that Milan are well along in talks over a deal for Pavlovic, and they reference the report from the Salzburger Nachrichten yesterday which claimed he is ‘on the verge’ of a €25m move.

He is indeed very close to joining, but the Milan management are actually expected to seal the deal for a figure of around €20m including bonuses, so a few million less than what the sources in Austria have been led to believe. Pavlovic has already said yes to the Rossoneri too.

He arrived in Austria two years ago for €7m from Monaco, who in turn bought him for €10m from Partizan Belgrade in 2020 and then loaned him first to Cercle Bruge in Belgium and then to Basel in Switzerland.

In the last two seasons he has collected 71 appearances for Salzburg, winning an Austrian league title, scoring six goals and providing as many assists with 24 yellow cards and 2 reds. In the senior national team he has 38 appearances (including the three group matches at Euro 2024) with four goals, one assist and 13 yellow cards.

Pavlovic is under contract until June 2027 and earns a salary of around €750k net per year, but Milan are ready to guarantee him double that, therefore a deal worth around €1.5m net and possibly more.
