CM: Milan keen on €25m Bologna midfielder as ‘maxi-operation’ emerges

AC Milan are already making plans for the summer, with some movement expected, and a few names have been mentioned. In addition to the Bologna leaders Joshua Zirkzee and Thiago Motta, Lewis Ferguson is also on the Rossoneri’s list.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan have set their sights on both Motta and Zirkzee to rebuild the teams, as Stefano Pioli is set to leave the club. Since Alexis Saelemaekers is also on loan with the Rossoblu, this could make room for a ‘maxi-operation’, as the report states.

In addition to the duo, though, Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio also appreciate the midfielder Lewis Ferguson a lot. During the January window, when Pioli was asking for a midfielder, they brought up the name to Giorgio Furlani.

Bologna bought him from Aberdeen for just €3.5m and his price tag is now believed to be no less than €25m, with a contract expiring in 2027. Milan are monitoring the situation closely, knowing that a maxi-operation could be on the cards.

It should be noted that the Rossoneri have been keeping their eyes on Ferguson for quite some time. We interviewed his agent back in March about the interest, but he didn’t give much away. But one thing is for sure: Milan scouts have watched both him and Zirkzee plenty.
