CM: Milan not giving up on €25m Celtic star but Leicester are ahead

As both Mateo Musacchio and Simon Kjaer could leave this summer, AC Milan are looking to reinforce the centre-back position. Kristoffer Ajer is one of the players that they have targeted, but the competition is fierce.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are closely following the Norweigan defender. There are no negotiations with Celtic, but the interest is certainly concrete and there have been talks with Ajer’s entourage.

The 22-year-old has convinced Milan’s scouts, being Celtic’s strong point at the back. However, Milan aren’t the only ones interested as many clubs are following the situation, above all Leicester who now find themselves in pole position.

The English side could use the ‘Brendan Rodgers factor’, as the manager trained Ajer during his time at Celtic. The base for the auction has been set at €25m and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up leaving for even more, given the interest.
