CM: Milan must sell defensive outcast for €7.5m – three teams interested

Mattia Caldara could leave AC Milan on a permanent basis this summer, four years after joining the club in a €35m deal. Three teams are interested in his signature and there is a certain figure the Rossoneri must get.

The centre-back hasn’t made a single official appearance for the Rossoneri, having spent two and a half seasons out on loan. Of course, he also suffered an ACL year during his first season at the club. In short, he’s ready to leave permanently.

According to Calciomercato.com, three teams have expressed an interest in Caldara: Bologna, Cremonese and Empoli. Milan need to sell him for €7.5m to avoid a capital loss and obviously, this is quite a high figure.

Caldara’s contract will expire at the end of 2023 and in order to allow a loan (with an option to buy), Milan will have to renew his deal for one more year. It would help lower his value on the balance sheet, to €3.7m, and it remains to be seen what the Rossoneri will do.
