CM: How Pessina’s €15m Monza move could help Milan land Chelsea midfielder

AC Milan could be set to net a nice windfall from a midfielder joining Monza which in turn could fund a move for a summer target, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com report, Monza celebrated the achievement of mathematical survival with the results going the way they did at the weekend and that means the loan deal for captain Matteo Pessina will have the obligation to buy triggered.

He will become a permanent Monza player for €15m, while Milan are happy because they will between 30 and 50% of Pessina’s future resale amount as per the terms when they sold him to Atalanta in 2017. Therefore, between €3.5m and €7.5m should arrive.

That cash could give Milan the money needed to go after Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, The Blues must be convinced to lower the asking price for the English midfielder, who is considered to be transferable.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are thinking about it and pondering their strategy, while waiting for the Pessina money to enter the accounts and widen the margins to operate.
