CM: Pioli wants to keep Messias and a Saelemaekers bid is imminent – the situation

AC Milan are making plans for next season and one of the positions they want to reinforce is the right-wing. In order to afford their primary target Marco Asensio, they will need to make space, a report claims.

Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers have taken turns starting on the right flank this season but it’s not been a huge success for either of them. And for a team like Milan, their respective contribution simply isn’t enough.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, a revolution is expected on the right-wing but Stefano Pioli wants to convince the management to redeem Messias from Crotone. It’s a difficult task for the manager, but not an impossible one.

As for Saelemaekers, Milan extended his contract until 2026 at the start of the season but they are expecting to receive an offer this summer from abroad. It’s something that will be carefully evaluated, given the Belgian’s recent struggles.

Finally, Samu Castillejo should make a return to La Liga after getting very little playing time for the Rossoneri this season. Valencia are in pole position and they have opened talks again after the failed attempt in January.
