CM: Kamada still looking for a club – why his move to Milan collapsed

Among the list of players who are still free agents, Daichi Kamada’s name is one that stands out and he was very close to joining AC Milan.

Calciomercato.com write that Kamada is still looking for a new club after his deal with Eintracht Frankfurt expired. The Japanese international had reached an agreement with Milan but the farewells of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara completely changed things.

The new Rossoneri management – led by Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada – decided to focus on Christian Pulisic as a possible attacking midfielder and thus abandoned talks with Kamada’s entourage.

In recent weeks, Lazio started working on signing Kamada after head coach Maurizio Sarri asked for him. However, in the last meeting that took place yesterday between the Claudio Lotito and the player’s agent Roberto Tukada, things did not go as planned.

Tukada asked for a contract worth €5m net per season for his client plus €5m in commissions and a signing bonus. The conditions were considered excessive by Lazio who decided to end the negotiations.

So where will he go? Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad are interested in Kamada and he has offers from Saudi Arabia. Roma were also keen but the salary demands were deemed too high.
