Theo Hernandez started two games in the USA pre-season tour and came off the bench in one, getting some minutes in his leg. However, as highlighted by Italian media, he’s running behind his teammates.

The left-back had a very demanding last season, between Milan and the World Cup run with France, and the vacation was thus much-needed for him. However, having returned to work, it’s clear that he’s lacking a bit physically.
As stated in today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), Hernandez is clearly not in top condition yet and still needs a few more weeks to find his groove. The likes of Tijjani Reijnders and Rafael Leao, meanwhile, have looked very bright.
Hernandez is a crucial player for Milan and we can only hope that he will be back to his best for the season opener against Bologna in less than three weeks. Stefano Pioli will be counting on it.
