CorSera: Milan hoping to use ‘excellent relations’ with Lille to get 26-goal striker

Jonathan David is back on AC Milan’s radar. Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are planning for the future and one of their priorities is to sign a striker, with the Canadian international high up on their wish list.

Olivier Giroud may have saved Milan at the weekend, and a contract renewal is on the cards, but the Rossoneri still need a striker for the future. Lille striker David is one of the primary targets, as reported by Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews).

The 23-year-old has been on their radar for several years now and last season, he managed to score 26 goals across all competitions. This season, he has four so far and his contract will expire in 2025.

As per the newspaper, Milan are hoping to use their ‘excellent relations’ with Lille to secure David, just like they did with Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan. Next summer, the French side will either have to sell him or renew, which could lower the price tag slightly.

Having said that, it won’t be an easy operation for the Rossoneri and it most definitely will not be a cheap one.
