As highlighted by today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), it’s a big opportunity for Milan as they would go ten points clear of Inter with a win. The Rossoneri’s goal remains the Scudetto and these games matter a lot.
It should also be noted that Milan can afford to draw this game, as it would keep the seven-point gap intact. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Stefano Pioli will be conservative with his tactics, but rather the players will be able to relax a bit more.
Unlike Inter, they can afford to leave the standings out of the calculation for one evening, and that could benefit them greatly in such a huge game.
