CorSera: Milan willing to satisfy midfielder’s requests as long-term renewal edges nearer

Some positive news has arrived regarding the future of Franck Kessie as a renewal appears to be edging close, according to a report.

There is pressure on the management to resolve the future of the Ivorian given that Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu walked away on free transfers, meaning the club missed out on a fee for two players who were almost permanent fixtures on the starting XI.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes how Milan know they cannot afford to lose Kessie, the undisputed point of reference in Pioli’s team. For this reason, the management are willing to make an economic sacrifice and the parties are moving towards an agreement for his renewal at €6m net per year.

That is a figure close to the 24-year-old’s initial requests and the new seems to suggest things are heading in the right direction. The sooner the deal can be announced, the better it is for peace of mind.
