Simon Kjaer may be 32 years of age now, but everything points towards the idea that he is in the prime of his career right now.
Kjaer was on the scoresheet for his country last night with a brilliant glancing header during Denmark’s 5-0 victory over Israel in a World Cup qualifier. The Danes are top of their group with five wins from five, 22 goals scored and remarkably zero conceded, and Kjaer is a big part of that.
This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) writes how Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will meet Kjaer’s agent in the coming days to talk about an extension, and the willingness of all parties is to reach an agreement as the player is very happy at Milan and is an important part of the project.
Kjaer currently receives a salary of around €2.5m net per season and the paper writes that the Rossoneri are willing to give him a pay rise, with no major problems and no long timescales foreseen.
