CorSport: Kalulu plan behind Milan’s interest in €30m Aston Villa full-back

AC Milan are looking to strengthen themselves at right-back, and a report has suggested that one player could be the key to unlocking a move for one.

There are no glaring errors with the right-back position, and given Davide Calabria is the captain, his position is strengthened somewhat. However, there is still a desire from Milan to strengthen the competition for the position, and they are evaluating several prospects.

Emerson Royal and Tiago Santos have been the suggested names so far, and both are showing promising signs. The Brazilian has openly accepted the idea of a move to the Rossoneri, whereas talks have been in place with Lille for a while regarding their right-back, whose potential arrival is strengthened by Paulo Fonseca’s imminent arrival.

However, there is another option gaining strength. According to Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan) the Diavolo are looking at Matty Cash once again from Aston Villa, and he could cost around €30 million, an understandable amount given he has three years left on his contract.

If a deal were to be pursued, CorSport states that the vision is for Calabria to have a ‘viable alternative’, meaning that Pierre Kalulu would move back into a central area instead of being shoehorned out wide.
