GdS: Spurs full-back says yes to Milan move – work continues with agents

By Ben Dixon -

The idea of signing a new right-back in the upcoming mercato is growing in favour of AC Milan, and one of their targets has fully immersed himself into the idea of wearing the Rossoneri colours, which could mean a deal accelerates.

Whilst there is not an urgent rush to replace Davide Calabria, there has been a growing notion at Casa Milan that competition is needed in the position, and rather than allowing Alessandro Florenzi to be the player to compete, they want a younger talent who can, hopefully, take the reigns when the time is right.

Two players have been linked with that role, and the first is Tiago Santos from Lille, who could follow Paulo Fonseca from France to San Siro if his former coach wants him and his current club allow him to leave. Given the Rossoneri’s interest has existed for months, and as we reported, they have asked about his price, there could be an avenue there.

Alternatively, there is Emerson Royal, who Gazzetta dello Sport reports has given the green light to move to Milan. There are several selling points in his eyes, primarily the allure of the Diavolo is too great to turn down, whilst the idea of emulating one of his idols, Cafu, also sweetens the deal.

With the Brazilian now set on a move to the club, the work has to be done between Milan, his agents, and Tottenham Hotspur to negotiate a deal, and given the report suggests his wages should not be an issue, it could be a smooth process, if Geoffrey Moncada and co. decide he is the best option.

  1. I guess the management’s plan is to buy every right back in the world so there is a shortage for other clubs then we can launch auctions. As Milan is now an entertainment brand, it could be very funny.

    1. Inter is getting all the strikers Milan have been interested in so perhaps this is a payback to them? An embarrassing one though.

  2. Guy has ben spotted by Barcelona and played in Brazil international, so he must have a potential. Move to Tottenham was not that great, but to be honest a lot of players wouldn’t make great time in Tottenham.

If the price wouldn’t be bigger than 25mil then I’d go for it. There is potential he might turn out to be a quality player in Milan (like former PL players such as Tomori, Pulisic or even Loftus Cheek).

If Milan does not want to pay more than 40mil (or not even more than 20…) then they must look for opportunities like this one and hope he will turn out to be a great player in Italy.

    1. you’re saying how a lot of players dont make time at spurs but the guy that did make time on rb has 4 goals and 7 assists. Royal just isnt good. When he was a starter he showed nothing, thats why they had to go and buy Porro.

There just isnt any quality there and we are suposed to take this Spurs reject? And act like its an reinforcement for rb? Or lb.. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttt!!!!!!!

Tomori, Puli and Ruben have all shown quality befor Milan move.. This guy has shown jacksh*t in 5 years in eu
