GdS: De Ketelaere has not lost his place in the pecking order but Pioli now expects more

Charles De Ketelaere has just about put his frustrating muscle injury behind him and is gearing up for a return, with AC Milan looking for answers from him.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that De Ketelaere has shaken off his problem and should be available to Stefano Pioli for Saturday’s match against Monza. Not only that, but the Belgian is also expected start in the role of attacking midfielder.

After a first part of the season in which he played a lot but didn’t manage to contribute with the end product he would like, now the time has come for De Ketelaere to change pace. He arrived in the summer for €35m from Club Brugge, and the paper states that he must enter the field with more courage and must be more decisive in the final third.

Despite the injury and the run of three straight league wins, De Ketelaere has not lost his place in the hierarchies of Pioli and should be the starting playmaker against Monza. Brahim Diaz did very well against Juventus, but he and Yacine Aldi struggled in Verona, so CDK will be given a chance at the weekend.
