Di Marzio: Milan keen to try for Jonathan David – they ‘would like to invest’ in him

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes that AC Milan have a keen eye on Lille striker Jonathan David as a potential option ‘for the future’.

Di Marzio spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) last night and he revealed that the Milan management also have a close eye on David’s situation given that he has a deal which expires in June 2024.

He states that the Rossoneri ‘want to try’ for the Canada international and that he ‘would keep David’s name alive for the future’ because he is a player in whom Milan ‘would like to invest’.

Milan have been linked with David plenty in the past when it looked like they would spend big on a new centre-forward but ultimately that large investment has not yet arrived.

The 23-year-old has been in immense form for Lille, scoring 13 league goals in his first season (2020-21) and following that up with 15 goals the next year, 24 goals last season and two in three games so far this campaign.

Milan have great relations with Lille also, as shown by the Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan and Tiago Djalo deals that have taken place in recent seasons.
