It was yet another defeat for Milan on Saturday, with that unbeaten run looking more and more like a fluke and luck. In football, you make your own luck, admittedly, but they couldn’t buy luck if they tried currently.

Indeed, the latest dropping of points means that the Champions League race can still be that, at least where the Rossoneri are concerned. What could’ve been wrapped up a few weeks ago now is looking like a potential road to disaster.
Di Stefano comments on Milan atmosphere
Speaking after the game, where Mike Maignan removed his teammates from the pitch to perhaps shield them, Peppe Di Stefano commented on the atmosphere at the MAPEI Stadium when speaking to Sky Sport, via MilanNews.
“It won’t be a quiet evening: Milan have picked up seven points in their last few games, scoring in only two and losing four. These are the numbers of those who are playing to avoid relegation.
“They’re a team that’s fading away, and it’s not me who’s saying it, but the numbers, the attitude during matches, the players’ verve. The dilemma is always the same: to what extent did the Rossoneri overperform in the first half of the season, and when are they falling short of expectations now?
“One thing I think is certain: Milan have their Champions League destiny in their hands, but if they get there, they’ll have to work hard on their squad. The atmosphere was a bit tense even at the end of the match.
“There were a lot of boos from the Milan fans post-match, and Maignan responded by practically withdrawing the team into the dressing room.”
