Doveri appointed referee of crucial Sassuolo-Milan game – the precedents

The AIA (Italian Association of Referees) has designated Daniele Doveri as referee for the game between Sassuolo and AC Milan at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday.

It is the last game of the Serie A season for both sides and Milan need a draw or a win to capture the Scudetto. To assist Doveri will be Bindoni and Imperiale as the linesmen, the fourth official will be Piccinini, while Aureliano and Mariani will be in the VAR room.

As SempreMilan.it report, there are 25 precedents involving Doveri being the Rossoneri’s referee with 14 of those being wins, 7 draws and 4 defeats. In that stretch, Milan received 6 penalties and had two red cards awarded to them.

Sassuolo’s previous games under the 44-year-old are more balanced: in the 18 matches directed by Doveri they got 8 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats.

Meanwhile, Marco Di Bello will be the referee of Inter-Sampdoria at San Siro as the Nerazzurri will take the field at San Siro on Sunday at 18:00 CEST hoping to win and for Sassuolo to do them what would be the biggest of favours.

Di Bello will have Preti and Giallatini as assistants, the fourth official will be Pezzuto and the VAR chief will be Irrati with his assistant being Meraviglia.
