AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has explained what the hiring of Zlatan Ibrahimovic says about the current ownership’s attitude towards delivering success for the fans.

Speaking to the Financial Times (via Milan News), Furlani explained that by hiring someone like Ibrahimovic to have a say in the running of the club, people can see that there is a commitment to bringing more success down the line.
“Bringing a leader like Ibra as a consultant for the AC Milan management team underlines our commitment to the future success of our club,” Furlani said.
Ibrahimovic has just been hired by RedBird Capital Group to be an operational partner and in turn, has become a Senior Advisor to AC Milan.
This brings to an end months of speculation about what role the Swedish former striker would play should he come back to Casa Milan.
There were seemingly endless meetings between Gerry Cardinale and Ibrahimovic to determine a role and announcement date, and it is a move that Stefano Pioli is said to be on board with.
