The relationship between Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare continues to be the source of speculation, and that has continued in the week of the derby.

Reports in the past week have spoken of some internal tensions within the Milan management, symbolised by a lack of communication and a difference in ideas. There was even talk from Daniele Longo of Tare’s position being evaluated at the end of the season.
‘A divided club’
As Tuttosport (via MilanPress) report, there is a sense of ‘a divided club’ at Milan at the moment, with differing views on the mercato and general management of the sporting side. It is a frictious dynamic that, sadly, is nothing new.
Back in 2013, the cohabitation between Barbara Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani sparked an initial rift. During the Elliott era, the ideas of Paolo Maldini, Zvonimir Boban and Leonardo often clashed with the constraints imposed by CEO Ivan Gazidis. Despite everything, the Scudetto arrived in 2022.
Tare was chosen last summer after a thorough casting process that Furlani himself requested, despite Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic having long identified him as the ideal candidate. However, some recent moves seem to reflect different perspectives.
The acquisitions of Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari were sealed, which came after the Luka Modric deal was closed by Tare. The progress of negotiations for Andre from Corinthians through an agent close to Furlani has also raised eyebrows.
Massimiliano Allegri , for his part, is staying quiet about the matter – at least publicly – maintaining his usual co-operative spirit. This summer, however, the coach expects experienced reinforcements ready to compete in the Champions League, hoping that ‘internal divisions can be healed’.
