The relationship between Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare continues to be the source of speculation, and that has continued in the week of the derby.
Reports in the past week have spoken of some internal tensions within the Milan management, symbolised by a lack of communication and a difference in ideas. There was even talk from Daniele Longo of Tare’s position being evaluated at the end of the season.

‘A divided club’
As Tuttosport (via MilanPress) report, there is a sense of ‘a divided club’ at Milan at the moment, with differing views on the mercato and general management of the sporting side. It is a frictious dynamic that, sadly, is nothing new.
Back in 2013, the cohabitation between Barbara Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani sparked an initial rift. During the Elliott era, the ideas of Paolo Maldini, Zvonimir Boban and Leonardo often clashed with the constraints imposed by CEO Ivan Gazidis. Despite everything, the Scudetto arrived in 2022.
Tare was chosen last summer after a thorough casting process that Furlani himself requested, despite Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic having long identified him as the ideal candidate. However, some recent moves seem to reflect different perspectives.
The acquisitions of Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari were sealed, which came after the Luka Modric deal was closed by Tare. The progress of negotiations for Andre from Corinthians through an agent close to Furlani has also raised eyebrows.
Massimiliano Allegri , for his part, is staying quiet about the matter – at least publicly – maintaining his usual co-operative spirit. This summer, however, the coach expects experienced reinforcements ready to compete in the Champions League, hoping that ‘internal divisions can be healed’.
If we just got rid of Furlani and let football men run the club, even with spending limits, we’d be so much better off. Furlani is a cancer.

First he destroyed everything Maldini and Massara did singlehandedly in light speed. Then, Tare build a competitive team by signing Jashari, Ricci, Rabiot and Modric.

Tare overspent massively on Jashari (regardless if Jashari is a good player or not)
Ricci was already pre-agreed the season before Tare came.
Rabiot fell into their laps and had no whiff of Tare on it.
Modric was the only great move Tare pulled so far, free at that.
Tare is still a mixed bag.
He is about on the same level as he was as a player. Average. In a club like Lazio or Torino, the goal is to be in top half and if you go into European competitions great. He is amazing at getting bargains. Milan doesn’t need 28 year old forgotten players that might come up good or might not. That is 90% of what he did at Lazio. He doesn’t have the experience to deal with top players, big money transfers. Obvious.
Oh and that is exactly what he did with Nkunku. But it’s a fail.
Which “top” players arrived for big money before Tare arrived? The only one is Leao, and that wasn’t Furlani. Also, Leao’s 49.5M euro transfer is the only transfer over 40M that AC Milan has completed since 2017/18 (the Yonghong Li fiasco summer), so it’s not like anyone at this club is spending “big money”.
Why do you make up such stories? Then you also make up stories that Furlani signed Nkunku and so on. What is wrong with you?
Furlani thinks he’s the owner of the club or something and likes to micro-manage. Get the f out of here already. If we qualify for champions league this year, you have the foundations to actually have a competitive squad for next season with 3-4 champions league ready players as allegri says. Let tare and allegri get what they want and stop interfering with every single thing.
Great. Maybe they bring in a real sport director for Milan. I’m sure Allegri can give them a few names. Tare is ok for Lazio, Torino, maybe Como.
I knew this would be an issue again this season after Furlani literally flew to Gerry last season to complain about Ibra not playing nice. Again our management and its structure is an absolute joke. You have three heads/factions that do their own thing with no defined roles so of course toe stepping is going to be an issue
