MilanNews confirm that Gabbia is not present in the squad list that Milan presented to the referees for the match against Fiorentina this evening. The Rossoneri defender will miss the game due to a supra-patellar inflammation (tendon in the knee) that means he will not participate in the last game of 2022.
The start has been given to Malick Thiaw along with Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Theo Hernandez in what seems to be a back four, with Simon Kjaer therefore the only available option on the bench for the centre-back role.
The hope is that the issue does not develop into something more serious for Gabbia because knee tendon problems can be tricky, though he will be able to rest during the break.
