There was a mixed bag of performances during last night’s 2-2 draw between Napoli and AC Milan, according to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The paper (seen below) has published their ratings from the game, starting with the team’s overall performance and Stefano Pioli’s score, both of which earned a 6 out of 10.
Olivier Giroud netted a brace which probably should have been match-winning and thus got a 7 which made him Milan’s best performer, while a wasteful Tijjani Reijnders was the worst at a 5.
Mike Maignan got a 5.5 as there were question marks over his handling of the ball and if he might have been able to save both goals.
Davide Calabria (7) and Fikayo Tomori (6.5) held the defence together at times, while Pierre Kalulu (6) had to come off early but was doing ok. Theo Hernandez (5) was criticised for his defensive work.
In midfield, Yunus Musah stood out as the most impressive – getting a 6.5 – while Rade Krunic only scored a 5.5.
Christian Pulisic was the best source of creativity, earning a 6.5, but Rafael Leao again struggled on the other flank and scored one point less.
In terms of the substitutions, Marco Pellegrino (5) and Luka Romero (5) both struggled to make a good impression, with the former struggling on Napoli’s first goal and coming off injured in his debut.
