As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Swede has started running with intensity at Milanello. He’s yet to start work with the ball, which will be an important phase of the recovery to understand the condition of his knee.

Ibrahimovic wants to be back for the first home game of the season, against Cagliari, but Stefano Pioli most likely won’t allow him. As a precaution, the clash against Lazio could be the one for the 39-year-old, who will turn 40 in less than two months.

The game against Lazio will take place after the international break and that means the striker will have more time to fully recover. After being out for so long, Milan certainly don’t want to rush the return.
