Sweden coach Janne Andersson spoke at a press conference ahead of the start of the European Championships and was asked about Ibrahimovic’s current condition, revealing that he has spoken to the veteran striker and that he is ‘not very advanced in his recovery’.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that no decision will be made until the end of the month when he will have a check-up when it will be the conclusion of the six-week therapy programme agreed upon when he suffered the injury against Juventus.
Nobody within the club has yet concretely considered the idea of surgery, but of course by logic it can be deduced that if the current therapy does not progress, surgery could be considered, but it is just a percentage of risk at the moment.
It all depends on how the last three weeks will evolve, to which others could be added – perhaps another couple of weeks – though if it is anything serious the club will adjust their market plans appropriately. Cruciate ligament damage is ruled out.
