GdS: Sale, stay or exclusion – Jovic’s Milan future remains shrouded in mystery

Luka Jovic faces an uncertain future at AC Milan despite the fact that the transfer window has closed in terms of incoming players for clubs in Italy, a report claims.

During the last few days of the transfer market there was talk of Jovic leaving for a club in LaLiga but the window closed there. Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about a ‘sensational hypothesis’ which has emerged that had never been considered before.

The Serbian striker was not cast aside like Divock Origi and Fodé Ballo-Touré for the USA tour and in the first games of the season, and in fact the Portuguese head coach publicly praised him by stating he was surprised with what he can offer.

With the passage of time, however, things have changed radically. The possibility of signing Tammy Abraham has pushed Jovic further down the pecking order and he was not called up for the Lazio game, apparently due to injury.

The paper adds that Jovic is currently at a crossroads. On the one hand, he could leave to go to a team in one of the leagues where the transfer window is still open, such as Saudi Arabia for example.

On the other hand he might remain and try fight for a spot, yet Fonseca could even decide to leave him out of the squad lists for Serie A and the Champions League if he doesn’t get a move.
