GdS: Kessie must set the record straight as July interview threatens to backfire

The speculation surrounding the renewal of Franck Kessie continues to rumble on, but in the meantime the player is not honouring a promise he made.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes how during the Olympics he gave an exclusive interview to the paper in which he made the declaration: “When I return from Tokyo, I fix everything. I just want Milan, at least for my entire football career.”

That was back on July 25, and still no signature has arrived. In the meantime as the fans and the Milan management continue to wonder what fate awaits the Ivorian, his agent has received offers more than the €6m net per season that Milan are willing to pay.

Kessie’s performances have dropped in recent weeks and that may be a coincidence, but the red card he received in the Champions League which ruined the game does not help.

Declaring in the media that he will sign for life and in the meantime his agent Atangana is speaking with other clubs is not a good look, so now the player is called upon to publicly set the record straight again.
