GdS: Lazio and Romagnoli continue negotiations but distance persists

There continues to be uncertainty surrounding the future of AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli as he has not yet found an agreement with Lazio.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Lazio are continuing their pressure to sign Romagnoli on a free from Milan. Unless there is a surprise twist, the Italian will not renew his contract with the Rossoneri which expires on June 30th.

The latest Biancoceleste offer of €2.8m net per season plus bonus is still considered too low by the defender who is asking for at least €3m in order to join his boyhood club. The parties are continuing to negotiate, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito will have to be careful of competition from other teams who are in the running.

Romagnoli joined Milan from Roma back in the summer of 2015 and has been a mainstay of the defence until the last season, where Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu became the first choice pairing.
