GdS: Maignan not close to returning – another 40-50 days of absence expected

AC Milan are likely to be without Mike Maignan for the best part of two months as he continues to have trouble with his calf, a report claims.

The impact that Maignan has on Milan as a collective defensive unit was obvious during last season’s Scudetto win, but the Rossoneri have been without their number one goalkeeper for most of the current campaign as he is struggling to shift a calf problem.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) mention the defensive struggles that Milan are continuing to have and the lack of clean sheets compared to the final part of the 2021-22 campaign, something that the recovery of the Frenchman could help.

However, according to the paper, there will be no rushing Maignan’s recovery and at present it seems as though he will be missing for at least another 40-50 days, throwing the Champions League first leg against Spurs into doubt.
