GdS: Milan initiate contacts with Sassuolo over midfield star as Plan B

Over the last few days, Milan’s interest in Renato Sanches has been heavily challenged by Paris Saint-Germain. Therefore, the Rossoneri have also started to look around and could make a domestic deal, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have set their sights on Sassuolo’s Hamed Junior Traore as the Plan B for Sanches. The 22-year-old, coming off a great season, has also been linked with Juventus.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are not in negotiations with the Neroverdi, but initial contacts have been held with them and Traore’s agent Gabriele Guffrida. From a financial point of view, per the report, a deal would be doable for Milan.

However, Sanches remains the primary target and the Rossoneri have no intention of accelerating for Traore at the time being. Should PSG succeed in their attempt to hijack the deal, then Milan will most likely turn to the versatile Sassuolo man.
