GdS: Milan initiate contacts with Sassuolo over midfield star as Plan B

By Isak Möller -

Over the last few days, Milan’s interest in Renato Sanches has been heavily challenged by Paris Saint-Germain. Therefore, the Rossoneri have also started to look around and could make a domestic deal, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have set their sights on Sassuolo’s Hamed Junior Traore as the Plan B for Sanches. The 22-year-old, coming off a great season, has also been linked with Juventus.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are not in negotiations with the Neroverdi, but initial contacts have been held with them and Traore’s agent Gabriele Guffrida. From a financial point of view, per the report, a deal would be doable for Milan.

However, Sanches remains the primary target and the Rossoneri have no intention of accelerating for Traore at the time being. Should PSG succeed in their attempt to hijack the deal, then Milan will most likely turn to the versatile Sassuolo man.

  1. Mercato’s dealings with Sassuolo always end up with a high price demanded by them as if Sassuolo have the best player on earth…

  2. He may seem an alternative to Renato Sanches but he’s not who we need right now. Sanchez can compete on d big stage- he did it at d euros n in d champions league. Just imagine him with d likes of Leao, Hernandez, Maignan, Bennacer,…, Milan would have a formidable team to complete in d champions league n serie a

  3. Another day and another silly article from Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Traore is an attacking player, LW and CAM, Renato is a complete midfielder, defensively and offensively.
Traore salary might not be an issue but his transfer fee, knowing Sassuolo ,will be higher than Renato’s .
