The Milan management are beginning to plan for next season even though there are eight crucial games remaining in the current campaign, a report claims.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) analyses the future of Milan in all departments, with the plans broken down into each area of the pitch including players on loan and those who could leave.
Defence: The most difficult situation remains the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Milan have presented an offer of €8m net per season, but for the moment no response has been received from the goalkeeper’s entourage. The Rossoneri will do everything possible to convince him to extend.
As for the defensive department, the intention of Milan is to sign Fikayo Tomori on a permanent basis for €28m, while Alessio Romagnoli’s future remains uncertain. Milan will also discuss the future of Diogo Dalot – currently on loan – very soon with Manchester United.
Midfield: In this department there are more certainties as Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are immovable and will definitely part of the future of Milan, as will Sandro Tonali who will be bought from Brescia permanently. Milan also seem willing to sign Soualiho Meité from Torino outright for €8m, while Krunic could look for a new team to play with more consistency.
Attack: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will renew for another year and will again lead the attacking department. The club has also been working for some time to extend Hakan Calhanoglu, but for now the difference between offer and demand is €2m. The management will try to keep Brahim Diaz as well, but the right formula will have to be found with Real Madrid. Rebic and Leao are two certainties, while in this season finale Mario Mandzukic will play to earn another year of contract.
