GdS: Milan offer €20m plus winger in bid to beat Juventus and Inter to creative midfielder

AC Milan have made an offer to Udinese for Rodrigo De Paul and are now awaiting a response, according to a report.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri are keen on landing the Argentine playmaker to the extent that they have actually launched their first proposal to Udinese. There is talk of a cash proposal – presumably around €20m – plus winger Jens Petter Hauge as a counterpart.

The Norwegian has struggled for playing time in 2021 so far and nobody can really explain why, but he is very much liked by Udinese who already requested him on loan in January. Milan need to beat competition from Inter and Juventus for the 26-year-old midfielder, who is in great demand after yet another excellent season for the Friulians with 16 goals contributions (8G, 8A) in 32 league games.

In his career De Paul has held three different roles too, as he can play on either wing but also as a playmaker behind the strikers and as a box-to-box midfielder too. In the latter role he managed to show off his qualities in a 3-5-2. If he joined Milan, he would replace Calhanoglu as the No.10 in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 as per the report.
