GdS: Milan player ratings for defeat against Udinese – Jovic and Reijnders struggle

It was another frustrating evening for the AC Milan fans as Udinese came away with all three points at San Siro yesterday. Luka Jovic, who played from the first minute, was the one who struggled the most on the pitch.

Stefano Pioli and his men have a lot to work on ahead of the big clash against PSG on Tuesday evening. The feeling, however, is that the crisis is too serious at this point and a miracle will thus be needed against the French side.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below) has analysed the player performances, naming Rafael Leao as the best for Milan at 6/10. In the attacking phase, he was more or less the only hope and at least made things happen, even if the end product wasn’t always great.

Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori and Alessandro Florenzi also expected major criticism at 6, all putting in a decent shift overall. Davide Calabria, Malick Thiaw, Rade Krunic, Yunus Musah, Olivier Giroud and Loftus-Cheek all needed to do better, though, at 5.5.

Yacine Adli was poor at 5, committing the foul that led to the penalty for Udinese. He was okay in possession, but that mistake ended up being costly. Tijjani Reijnders struggled in the final third once again, failing to connect with his teammates and missing a very good chance. As a result, he got a 4.5 by the newspaper. Same as Noah Okafor, whose impact off the bench was non-existent.

Finally, Luka Jovic only got a 4 and was named the flop of the match for Milan. His first touch was very poor and he went down way too easily in many duels. He’s not Rossoneri-worthy, as the newspaper concludes.
