GdS: Milan have three midfield targets in mind amid Tonali’s injury

Milan were always expected to bring in a midfielder this summer but due to the injury of Sandro Tonali, they might have to act faster than first thought. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have three targets in mind, a report claims.

Tonali sustained an injury in Milan’s friendly against Vicenza last night and he will undergo tests tomorrow to determine the extent of it. He will miss the opener against Udinese but everything beyond that is uncertain.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Maldini and Massara could be forced to act faster on the market to make up for Tonali’s absence. They have three targets in mind after missing out on Renato Sanches, who has officially joined PSG.

Raphael Onyedika (Midtjylland) and Jean Onana (Bordeaux) are on the Rossoneri’s radar and Tottenham’s Pape Sarr is lurking in the background. All three of them are young (21, 22, 19) and have already shown their quality at a high level.

It remains to be seen what Maldini and Massara will do but first, we will have to wait for the outcome of Tonali’s tests. If it’s just an overstretch, then Milan don’t need to rush the midfield signing.
