GdS: Milan’s interest in Lukaku is real – talks with Chelsea and player’s entourage ongoing

AC Milan are serious about signing Romelu Lukaku and have opened talks both with his entourage and with Chelsea, a report claims.

Today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes that Milan’s move for Lukaku ‘wasn’t just a disruptive move’ as the Rossoneri management spoke with Chelsea and not just with the Belgian’s entourage.

They have also formulated a real offer for the Belgian too, believing that he would be a great fit for Stefano Pioli’s system and style despite the fact that at 30 years of age and with a high salary he goes against the grain of the project.

Steven Zhang and the Inter management have understood that another loan for Lukaku will not be possible, which came from Chelsea themselves in talks with the player’s entourage.

A figure of €40m is needed to sell, and at the moment it feels like Lukaku has two concrete options for his future: Milan (which he excludes at the moment on principle) and Al Hilal, who have proposed a three-year contract worth €30m net per season.

Lukaku knows that his stay at Inter is now complicated but Marotta and Ausilio will make further attempts. The former Manchester United man wants to go back to Inter and he doesn’t see himself wearing the Rossoneri shirt, but he needs concrete signals.

In short, he would like Inter to show the same willingness to keep him as the one he showed 12 months ago to return to the club. Otherwise he is ready to consider other hypotheses, and he wants to stay in Europe. All while Milan push concretely.
