GdS: Morata getting ‘closer and closer’ to Milan – a €32m package is ready

AC Milan continue to be linked with a move for Alvaro Morata with increasing existence and an offer has been made, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write that Morata is getting ‘closer and closer’ to joining Milan. He is ready to leave Atletico Madrid and the idea of returning to Italy and joining the Rossoneri has convinced him.

The choice to go for Morata comes from the desire to sign a striker with guaranteed performance levels. The former Juventus has never been a prolific scorer but he seems to always net 10-15 goals per season.

He knows how to work for his team-mates too, acting as a playmaker of sorts which can bring the wingers in like Rafael Leao and potentially Samuel Chukwueze too, and the Spaniard and loves Italy.

He met his wife Alice in Milan and one of his four children was born in Turin. Morata has already been close to wearing the Rossoneri shirt several times in the past too, such as during the Chinese ownership.

Even the recent choice to renew his contract with Atletico was aimed at facilitating a return to Italy. He has a €20m clause in his contract but there is the possibility that he leaves for €12m including taxes, and he has told Milan he would take €5m net per season.

There could be another assist for Milan too. If the tax experts’ checks lead to confirmation that the centre-forward has the requisites to take advantage of the Growth Decree, then it would further reduce the outlay on his four-year deal.

Milan are moving to get ahead of Juventus too because they are evaluating Morata’s return if Dusan Vlahovic really were to leave, which the management know.

Saudi side Al Ettifaq have set their sights on the 30-year-old too and have presented Morata with a very high offer but the idea of leaving Europe does not appeal to him.
