GdS: Plethora of choices in attack could see Pioli try a 4-3-3 or 3-4-1-2

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is already thinking about the variations in formation that he could field with the players at his disposal, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write how Pioli has many solutions up front – as he himself has admitted – with three attacking midfielders to choose from in Brahim Diaz, Yacine Adli and the big summer arrival of Charles De Ketelaere.

Therefore, the paper expect that Pioli will slowly introduce new tactical choices to ensure that his team remain unpredictable, perhaps even starting from the game against Bologna at San Siro on Saturday night.

If De Ketelaere starts from the first minute it is likely that he will be fielded as an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1, but the characteristics of him and those of his team-mates could lead Pioli over time to use a 4-3-3 or even potentially 3-4-1-2.

After struggling for quite a lot of his tenure with not having many options for the attacking roles due to injuries and a lack of depth, he is now spoiled for choice.
