GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Napoli – how Pioli will cope without Leao

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to make forced changes to the attack for the visit of Napoli to San Siro on Sunday, a report claims.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Milan should line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation despite rumours of a potential switch to a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1, with Mike Maignan in goal protected by a back four of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez.

The midfield double pivot should be Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali, with Charles De Ketelaere taking back his spot from Brahim Diaz as the central attacking midfielder behind the centre-forward Olivier Giroud.

With Rafael Leao suspended after getting a red card in the win at Sampdoria, Alexis Saelemaekers is expected to shift over the the left wing with Junior Messias on the right flank to complete the line-up.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, De Ketelaere, Saelemaekers; Giroud.

Probable Napoli XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim; Oliveira; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia.
