GdS: Rising Rosario Central star the latest idea for Milan with €14m price set

It seems that AC Milan do not consider their attacking department to be complete even after the signings of Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze as they are targeting a young striker.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Ante Rebic and Divock Origi will have to leave before Milan can add another striker to the Milan squad, while Lorenzo Colombo could be sent out on loan too.

In the meantime, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada’s notebook has the name of Alejo Veliz highlighted. The Rosario Central striker stood out at the U20 World Cup with Argentina where he scored 3 goals in 4 games.

He has 11 goals in 22 league appearances and at only 19 years of age, his development has not gone unnoticed. It is Carlos Tevez who promoted him permanently to the first team a season ago despite his young age, and the Rossoneri deem him perfect for their youth project.

The management have tested the waters with the Argentine club and have learned that he would cost €14m. Veliz does not have an EU passport but it would not be a problem given yesterday’s FIGC ruling means Milan have a slot free.

The main issue is linked to the liquidity that will arrive from the sales: only in this way can the negotiation with Rosario Central begin concretely.

In the meantime, Milan are looking around and if the mercato throws up the chance to sign a striker on loan, that too will be evaluated.
