As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) explains, the 10-point penalty applied not long before the 4-1 defeat against Empoli might not be the only way Juve are punished, because UEFA are continuing to carry out its investigations and their sentence is expected in June.
With regards to the full-blown unsportsmanlike behaviour of the managers, there is an article of the European regulation which allows access to continental competitions to be banned.
Additionally, penalties for breaching Financial Fair Play can also lead to exclusion. It is no longer an unlikely idea therefore that Juve are given a European ban.
That is why it is essential for the Bianconeri to qualify this year, even if only in the Conference League, because they would start serving the ban immediately.
If they were to miss out, the ban would only kick in when they have secured a European spot. For example, they could finish seventh this season but in the top four next season and have to miss out on the Champions League, because that is when the ban would kick in.
