GdS: Spurs full-back says yes to Milan move – work continues with agents

The idea of signing a new right-back in the upcoming mercato is growing in favour of AC Milan, and one of their targets has fully immersed himself into the idea of wearing the Rossoneri colours, which could mean a deal accelerates.

Whilst there is not an urgent rush to replace Davide Calabria, there has been a growing notion at Casa Milan that competition is needed in the position, and rather than allowing Alessandro Florenzi to be the player to compete, they want a younger talent who can, hopefully, take the reigns when the time is right.

Two players have been linked with that role, and the first is Tiago Santos from Lille, who could follow Paulo Fonseca from France to San Siro if his former coach wants him and his current club allow him to leave. Given the Rossoneri’s interest has existed for months, and as we reported, they have asked about his price, there could be an avenue there.

Alternatively, there is Emerson Royal, who Gazzetta dello Sport reports has given the green light to move to Milan. There are several selling points in his eyes, primarily the allure of the Diavolo is too great to turn down, whilst the idea of emulating one of his idols, Cafu, also sweetens the deal.

With the Brazilian now set on a move to the club, the work has to be done between Milan, his agents, and Tottenham Hotspur to negotiate a deal, and given the report suggests his wages should not be an issue, it could be a smooth process, if Geoffrey Moncada and co. decide he is the best option.
