The signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is positive in many respects for AC Milan. In addition to what he can do on the pitch, he has already made an impact as far as the Rossoneri’s social media channels are concerned.

As Gazzetta Dello Sport highlight on their website, from 27 December to 3 January, Milan registered +1.54% followers on Instagram, which is among the best results of the top European clubs.

To put these numbers in perspective, Tottenham got +1.26% when Mourinho arrived, Liverpool got +1.07% when they won the Club World Cup and Borussia Dortmund got +1.02% for signing Haaland.

Furthermore, AC Milan also recorded a high engagement rate (3.87%), with a peak of 12% on the day when the return was made official. On Facebook, the growth was +0.25% (60K likes) and there were 1.64 million interactions.

These numbers are the fifth best data in Europe during that period on Facebook, and you can certainly call it the Ibrahimovic effect. Hopefully, it will pay off on the pitch as well.
