Yesterday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed his return to AC Milan after weeks of rumours about the matter. In an interview with Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), a former AC Milan defender revealed an interesting anecdote.
Nicola Legrottaglie, who played with the Swede for the last six months of the Scudetto season, was asked about the Rossoneri’s signing in the interview with the newspaper. Not surprisingly, he had a funny story about Ibrahimovic.
“One day, Zlatan told me ‘Nicola, remember that Jesus doesn’t make you win trophies, but I do’. Even today it brings a smile to my face, but that explains well who Ibra is,” he stated.
This mentality will be crucial for the striker during his second spell at the club. Although he’s only been in the city for one day, he took part in Milan’s friendly game against Rhodense this afternoon, getting on the scoresheet.
It remains to be seen if he will play from start against Sampdoria on Monday, although an appearance off the bench certainly is likely. In any case, we can only hope that he will do well for the team.
