Divock Origi is attracting interest from West Ham United and a move there could see AS Roma land their main target, a report claims.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gianluca Scamacca is the striker that Roma want for next season but he has returned to London to begin preseason preparations with West Ham, while waiting for news on his future.
The turning point could come soon and Origi could give the Giallorossi an assist. Up until a few days ago Moyes was working hard on Chelsea’s Armando Broja, but talks are on hold due to doubts about his condition and the €35m asking price.
Then David Moyes turned to another type of centre-forward, Origi, who has already played in England for Liverpool. The negotiation is already well underway, even if it needs some time before talking about a done deal.
What is certain is that once they have found a new centre-forward, West Ham will think of letting Scamacca go. Roma are still hoping for a loan with option to buy, the Hammers want at least the conditional obligation (linked to appearances and qualification for the next Champions League) at €23-24.
Origi’s €4m net per season salary is high, but for an English club it is much less of a burden and Moyes thinks that a return to the Premier League could help him get his smile back.
